At their meeting on 19 December 1926, the Cabinet Council agreed to “establish a secret National Security Service (M.E.H.) for the security and defence of the state”. Established directly subordinate to  the Office of the Prime Minister, M.E.H./MAH is the predecessor of the National Intelligence Organization.
