After the establishment of MİT, efforts were made to find a suitable location to meet the Organization’s physical requirements . In 1966, a large  piece of land located in Yenimahalle  was allocated to  MİT. The construction of the compound was started in 1968 and largely completed in 1974, and units operating in various locations in Ankara  were moved to the new premises one by one .
