1940
M.E.H/MAH worked against nearly 20 foreign services to avoid Turkish involvement in WWII. Among these were British and German secret services, with whom MAH both collaborated and sometimes got into conflicts, manipulating them against one another. In this context, the Turkish-British Security Bureau, or Bimak Venture as referred to in documentation, established in November 1940, stands out as this was the very first time MAH collaborated with a foreign service. This collaboration mainly operated against Abwehr, the intelligence agency of Wehrmacht. However, M.E.H/MAH members used this bureau to collect information about the British as well.
