ADNAN ERSÖZ

Graduated from the Turkish Military Academy and  held various positions in the Turkish Armed Forces, Adnan Ersöz was promoted to major general in 1963. He served as a brigadier general between 1963-1965, major egneral between 1965-1969, lieutenant general between 1969-1973, and general between 1973-1977. Ersöz was appointed as Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization on 13 July 1978, and he resigned on 19 November 1979. He also served in Advisory Council established after 12 September 1980. He was assassinated by terrorists in his home in Istanbul in 1991.
