Within the context of the measures adopted for the national security of Türkiye, the Security Vetting Directorate conducts archival research and security investigations in areas falling under its mandate in accordance with relevant laws, upon the request of public agencies and institutions.

The Department of Counterintelligence is responsible for the detection and prevention of espionage activities by foreign governments, intelligence services, institutions and persons against Türkiye. For this purpose, the Department engages in counter-intelligence activities and cooperates and works in coordination with public- and private institutions targeted by espionage activities.

The Department of External Operations is responsible for safeguarding and furthering Türkiye’s strategic interests. It works closely with relevant departments at home and abroad and aligns its activities with Türkiye’s National Security Strategy along with political developments and circumstances.

The Department of Counter-Terrorism Directorate is responsible for the collection of security intelligence regarding threats against Türkiye’s national might, including terrorist organizations and acts of terrorism. The Department uses intelligence gathered at home and abrod to ensure that necessary precautions are taken and threats are neutralized in due time.

Cyber Intelligence Directorate is responsible for conducting technical activities and collecting, recording and analyzing information, documents, intelligence and data by using all kinds of technical intelligence methods, tools and systems in order to fulfill the tasks assigned in accordance with Law no.2937

The Department of Signals Intelligence is responsible for producing signals intelligence, including early reports and warnings, by using communication and non-communication signals. For this purpose, it intercepts communications and radar signals to analyze them and convert them into intelligence.
