Avni Kantan graduated from the Turkish Military Academy before holding various positions at the Armed Forces from 1932 onwards and subsequently joining the Directorate of National Security Services. He served the Organization as an executive and abroad. Kantan served as Acting Undersecretary between 14 July 1965 and 2 March 1966. He passed away on 7 April 1966.
